This program started life on bitnotes.com and became the most popular feature over there. Now, it has been moved to Thematic Attic because I (the webmaster) believe it is a better fit and will benefit more people. I've polished it a bit more and hope that any teacher out there needing a simple way to generate worksheets for homework, practice or even tests will find it usefull. Answer keys are included for your convenience.
Our first release in the Resource Center, this program shows various statistics on a map of the world. You can zoom in and out and move the map around and view the map as satellite images or like a road map.
The ultimate thinking here is we may develop an entire system for creating lesson plans online and sharing them with the rest of the world. These would be original works and could be updated. There would also be the ability to collaborate with one another or simply correct one another. This way, we hope, the lesson plans will be as bullet-proof as possible.
For now, we're starting with defining the units a lesson plan can be divided into. These units are laid out such that you can print them in "Landscape" mode. It may take a little experimenting with your printer to fit, but we'll also be developing a list of printing tips to help you out there.
Our first effort under Project Eagle is also our first official game called "Creatures". This is a lot like the classic game of 20 questions, with the difference being that we tried to make the computer sound like a real person. Go ahead and check it out.
This one started out as an experiment to test a personal theory. The theory didn't pan out, but the resulting program was pretty cool. So I polished it up and wrote some documentation while the idea was still fresh. Now you too can explore earthquake activity and see if you can spot trends. Coincident to our rollout there has been an 8.2 magnitude (revised to 8.4 as I was writing this) earthquake in Jakarta, Indonesia just before we rolled this program out. Head on over to the link above and you will find a wealth of information on how to use the program.
